 f will provide a brief report on his recent visit to Gaza and Colonel Desm
 ond Travers will reflect on the work of the Goldstone Commission and on th
 e Israeli forces operation "Cast Lead" from analyses conducted over the la
 st four years.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nColonel Desmond Travers was one of the four a
 uthors of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict\, e
 stablished by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)\, known as t
 he "Goldstone Report"\, which followed the Israeli attack on Gaza known as
  “Cast Lead” in 2008/2009.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nColonel Travers is a retired 
 Irish soldier and peace-keeper. He was commissioned into the infantry corp
 s in 1962 when Ireland was beginning to participate in UN Peacekeeping ope
 rations. During a career spanning forty-two years he served both in comman
 d and staff appointments in such operations in Cyprus\, Lebanon\, Croatia 
 and Bosnia and Herzegovina.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHis last appointment was as Comm
 andant of the Irish Defence Forces Military College.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSince r
 etiring in 2001\, he has contributed to a programme for the training of po
 lice\, NGO's and related professionals into the modalities of the investig
 ation of war crime.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nCol. Travers is Vice President of The In
 stitute for International Criminal Investigations based in The Hague\, whi
 ch has to date trained over one thousand persons qualified in such work.\n
 \nColonel Travers will talk about the work of the Goldstone Commission and
  recent developments in Israel's control of the Gaza Strip.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n
 Admission is free\, though a collection will be held to cover hall hire\; 
 Zaytoun products and similar products will be on sale to provide solidarit
 y support to embattled farmers in the West Bank.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nFor plannin
