SUMMARY:Walk the Tyne for Palestine - 2014 Sponsored Walk
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored walk to raise much-needed funds for Newcastle Palesti
 ne Solidarity Campaign (PSC) so that we can continue our work as an active
 \, campaigning group in the cause of justice and freedom for the Palestini
 an people.\n\nWhen : SUNDAY\, 4TH MAY (May bank holiday weekend)\n\nTime :
  assemble from 11am in time to head off by 11.30am (walk will take 2.5 - 3
  hrs at most)\n\nWhere : along the South and North banks of the River Tyne
  between Newburn and Wylam\n\nA circular walk starting and finishing at Th
 e Keelman Pub\, a distance of around 8 miles on good\, country paths follo
 wing the banks of the River Tyne all the way (no walking along roads) suit
 able for people of all ages\, families with children and people using whee
 lchairs.\n\nStarting and finishing point : The outdoor garden area of the 
 Keelman Pub\, Grange Road\, Newburn NE15 8NL. The pub is located close to 
 Newburn Leisure Centre\, around 5 minutes walk from Newburn Village – ta
 ke the Number 22 bus from centre of Newcastle (outside Central Station) an
 d get off in Newburn Village at the stop just before the traffic lights. A
 t the traffic lights turn left to the bottom of the road (with shops on) t
 hen turn right at the bottom and the Keelman pub is around 5 minutes walk 
 along the road. If you’re coming by car\, there’s plenty of parking in
  the vicinity of the pub.\n\nThe Route : from the pub\, walk East past the
  leisure centre and then along the river to Newburn Bridge. Cross Newburn 
 Bridge to the South side of the river\, then immediately right to get on t
 he riverside path heading West. Follow the path by the river for 4 miles t
 o the village of Wylam (Wylam railway station) then cross Wylam Bridge to 
 the North side of the river\, turn immediately right and head East along t
 he riverside path and cycle way which takes you back to The Keelman Pub.\n
